Advocatesight publishes Advocatesight. This policy sets out what visiting advocatesight.com involves in data terms, and what you can do about it.
Not for Children
This is not a children’s site. It is not directed to under-13s (or under-16s where that threshold applies), no data is knowingly collected from them, and any that arrives is deleted once identified.
Signing Up for Email
Newsletter subscriptions use double opt-in verification. Unsubscribe links appear in all email along with our postal address, removal is instant, and subscriber addresses are not rented, sold, or handed to third parties for their own marketing.
What It Is Used For
It is used to run the site, to improve what we publish by seeing which pages are read, to honour newsletter subscriptions, and to serve advertising where that is in place.
Data Lifespan and Security
Data lifespans are tied to purpose — analytics on the provider’s expiry schedule, email addresses until you leave the list, comments until they are taken down. Protection is by way of restricted access and encrypted transport, applied proportionately. No online service can be perfectly secure.
Third-Party Services
Running a site of this kind involves outside providers. Hosting and content delivery, analytics (we may use a provider such as Google Analytics), an email platform if you subscribe, and any advertising network we work with. Where these act on their own account rather than ours — as independent controllers rather than processors acting on our instruction — their own privacy policies apply alongside this one.
What Comes In
- We may record the usual technical details of a visit (IP address, device, browser, referrer, pages requested) together with anything you volunteer: your email address if you subscribe, and the name and address attached to any comment you post.
- On the point most relevant to readers interested in Advocatesight — we ask readers not to send us sensitive personal details, and we delete rather than retain anything of that kind that reaches us unprompted.
Tracking Technologies
Rather than duplicate it here, cookie detail lives in our Cookie Policy.
Where advertising is served, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
Your Choices
Subject to your location, you may request access to your data, its correction or deletion, a portable copy, or restriction of its use, and you may opt out of sale or sharing for advertising. These entitlements flow from the UK/EU GDPR and from US state law including the CCPA/CPRA. Global Privacy Control signals are respected automatically. See our State Privacy Notice and Do Not Sell or Share.
